72429c4e-bcf9-4212-975d-6479330e4370 Germany 2024-04-01 JKI WATARA-MODE project Commodity and taxon based risk analysis and modelling of quantified plant damage for dynamic cost-benefit analysis of plant health measures. 


This project starting in (April 2022 - April 2025) will :

- conduct horizon scanning  for pests that could be introduced into the EU with bamboo as a substitute for wood packing material

- scan the entire genus Agrilus to see whether other very dangerous species could be introduced into the EU in addition to the already known representatives

- create alert lists and mini datasheets for identified pests.

- model damage thresholds of new plant pests to allow a scientific evaluation of the proportionality of measures and regulatory interventions
