A. sheldoni the citrus bud mite, is a minute (0.12 - 0.18 mm), elongate mite that is reported from citrus and related plant species. The immature and adult stages feed mostly beneath bud scales or in developing buds and flowers, damaging embryonic bud tissues. Plant parts (twigs, flowers and fruits) that develop from damaged buds are often distorted. This species is widely 

distributed around the world almost everywhere where citrus is cultivated
