 <description><![CDATA[<p>This document presents the opinion of the Panel on the simplified pest risk assessment conducted by France on Aceria sheldoni (Ewing) (Acari: Eriophyidae), with French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique and Réunion considered as endangered area.&nbsp;</p><p>A. sheldoni the citrus bud mite, is a minute (0.12 - 0.18 mm), elongate mite that is reported from citrus and related plant species. The immature and adult stages feed mostly beneath bud scales or in developing buds and flowers, damaging embryonic bud tissues. Plant parts (twigs, flowers and fruits) that develop from damaged buds are often distorted.
