• Acanthococcus lagerstroemiae is not known to be present in the EU.

• Acanthococcus lagerstroemiae can likely establish in large parts of the EU. 

• Acanthococcus lagerstroemiae has many host plants but most severe infestations are known on Lagerstroemia spp. Introduction of the pest will likely have an impact on Lagerstroemia spp. and possibly other plant species including pomegranate (Punica granatum).
