Any measures taken to mitigate spread and impacts should be in proportion to the damage caused by the species; however, what level of damage A. maiche is causing to different trees has not been studied in Switzerland and not much elsewhere. It is recommended that studies on its host range and any damages caused (directly or via associated plant pathogens) will be undertaken. As no substantial damage has been reported so far, neither from Switzerland nor from other countries where A. maiche occurs, it appears that phytosanitary measures that could affect trade are not justified.
